What’s it all about…

Welcome to Your Flower School, Hertfordshire. We are family run School teaching from our beautiful, purpose build, air conditioned studio at our home in Welwyn Garden City.

My name is Samantha and I’ve been a florist for more than 20 years and teaching for over 14yrs. I run the classes with the assistance of Cindy aka Mum! She has been a florist for more than 50 years and has taught in colleges and at our school for over 30 years.

At Your Flower School you will discover the knowledge the skills to arrange flowers in a variety of ways. We teach how to hand tie your flowers, a useful technique for arranging flowers at home. 

You can learn how to make a variety of arrangements in containers as well as make your own cactus gardens and mixed planters, using a variety of coloured sands, grits and decorations.

Our classes are designed to be fun and informative as well as relaxing and calming. Our classes have been described as therapeutic and improve wellbeing. Our studio is the perfect environment to really get into the zone and enjoy your time being creative.

I design the arrangement in advance and supply all the flowers, sundries and equipment to make your own, so you don't need to bring anything with you. 

With my guidance we create the arrangement together. I do not rush the class, so you have plenty of time to enjoy making your creation. Myself and Cindy are on hand to help as much or as little as you want.

We run specific courses for Spring, Summer and Autumn. These are usually 4- 6 weeks covering a range of designs in foam and handtied displays. 

Our one-off workshops are dispersed throughout the year, with seasonal classes at Easter, Halloween and Christmas where we make designs to celebrate these events.

We run classes on site and off site for Hen parties, Birthday parties and Corporate wellbeing days.

Our Christmas Wreath making classes are hugely popular, so book early to guarantee your place. We make fresh pine wreaths from scratch and decorate with luxury decorations, dried fruits and cones. You can book these classes on your own or in a group. If you have more than 8 people and would like a private session either on site or at your own home or venue please get in touch to arrange this.

How it all started…

Your Flower School was born over 14 years ago. We started with 2 workshops at Christmas teaching how to make a decorative door ring and pine table designs. Quickly these 2 workshops turned into 8 and each year the demand for these workshops has grown.

We quickly set up a 6 week ‘Introduction to flower arranging’ course which was a big success and started the ball rolling for all the classes we teach throughout the year.
